Etuaptmumk – Two-Eyed Seeing

Blending traditional knowledge with innovative, sustainable processes is the basis for ‘Two-Eyed Seeing’.  Etuaptmumk, the Mi’kmaw word for Two-Eyed Seeing, is the guiding principle identified by Mi’kmaw Elder Albert Marshall.   Etuaptmumk refers to learning to see from one eye with the strengths of Indigenous knowledges and ways of knowing, and from the other eye with the strengths of Western knowledges and ways of knowing … and learning to use both these eyes together, for the benefit of all.

From the indigenous, the seven sacred teachings ensure that we consider and guide our actions with wisdom, respect, honesty, humility, courage, truth, and love. 1790 West Farm & Goods are grown naturally, building on the wisdom of shared knowledge, respecting the land and all our relations, with our ancestors guiding our dealings with honesty and humility, nurturing the courage to try new solutions, facing the truth of our challenges and doing it all with love.

From the western, we embrace the integration of innovative solutions, the opportunity to extend our community and the possibility to do it simpler, better and more efficiently.

1790 West Farm can be found at Winipukwejk (West Jeddore), in beautiful Mi’kma’ki.
