1790 WEST

Our story

1790 West is a magical place.

A blend of Irish, Canadian, Indigenous wisdom, wit and wonder, 1790 West is a small farm holding on Winipukwejk, or Jeddore, the marvelous eastern shore of Nova Scotia.

1790 West is 57 acres of fabulous trees and rocks – not necessarily the most arable land – but by blending modern farming insights with traditional knowledge, we’ve harvested everything from arugula to zucchinis without use of pesticides, herbicides or insecticides.

Our family looks forward to growing the goodness that can feed yours.

Our Mission

By using traditional methods, such as companion planting and crop rotation, with modern insights on soil requirements and harvest yields, we are doing our part to ensure that fresh, nutritious food is available on the eastern shore.
